Research study in the Long group focuses on the style and controlled synthesis of novel inorganic products and particles towards the fundamental understanding of brand-new physical phenomena, with applications in gas storage, molecular separations, conductivity, catalysis, and magnetism. We employ a variety of physical techniques to analyze and define our materials comprehensively, including by gas adsorption analysis, X-ray and neutron diffraction, various spectroscopic methods, and SQUID magnetometry.
